An original Acrylic on 16"x20" canvas, one of a kind of an "Old Ruin" of a castle next to a lake.
"The painting depicts a tranquil landscape dominated by an ancient stone castle. The structure is centered and placed at a distance, situated in a lush environment. It features robust walls and multiple towers, with the tallest tower standing prominently against the sky. The castle's architecture suggests a medieval or historical period.
Behind the castle, the land rises into rolling hills, with the terrain marked by a mixture of yellow and reddish hues, possibly indicating a change in vegetation or the effects of sunlight at a particular time of day. A few patches of darker green reveal where trees or shrubs dot the landscape.
Above the castle and hills, the sky is painted with soft, muted tones, with cloud formations that add a sense of overcast weather or an approaching storm. The clouds are highlighted by the contrast between the darker grays and the lightness of the sky.
In the foreground, a body of still water reflects the castle and the surrounding scenery with subtle distortions, creating a mirror effect that adds depth and serenity to the scene. The reflections are a mix of light and dark tones, replicating the colors of the castle and the natural environment above the waterline.
Overall, the artwork conveys a sense of historical significance and the passage of time, inviting contemplation of the serene and enduring beauty of this landscape.
"Old Ruin" was inspired by a photo from the internet, photographer unknown; if you know who took the photograph please let me know so I can give them credit. Do to what looks like a landslide blocking the way, I added a lake between the mountains caused by water run off filling the area between the mountains. "
The edges are painted so it can be mounted in a frame but doesn't need one, it's ready to hang. If you have any questions or need to talk to me just click HERE to go to my contact page.
